BIO
Erika is a contributing photographer and writer with National Geographic Travel, and her work is represented by the National Geographic Creative Image Collection. Born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Erika fell in love with the outdoors and its pine & cedar forests of the North during summer camping trips with her family. Her guiding experience began on the white waters of Colorado and in the mountains of Big Sky, Montana, and she blames her Wisconsin heritage for her resilience to freezing temperatures. After receiving her photography and film degree from Montana State University, Erika began blending her love of guiding with her photography education and has led numerous photography workshops with Canon through US National Parks including Yosemite, Yellowstone, The Grand Canyon and Acadia National Park. Erika is currently based between the US and Bogotá, Colombia and leads photography trips with National Geographic Expeditions to Morocco & Cuba, with Linblad / National Geographic Expeditions to Alaska, and continues to guide photography expeditions each summer around the world for National Geographic Student Expeditions to Alaska, Yellowstone, Peru, and Ecuador & the Galapagos. Her photography work dives into the details of cultures and landscapes abroad, pursuing a storytelling element to bring the viewer along with her on the ride.
